Spring recitals galore!

It's that time of year, when elementary school children dress up in costumes and show off their talent on stage for the parents. It's also the time for more serious middle schoolers to demonstrate what they've learned all year in the music class  elective they've chosen. This week we had back-to-back days of performances. On Monday night, Danny's entire second grade performed The Bear Went Over the Mountain.

See him there to the right behind the bear? It was a super-cute performance - some of his friends even had solos. Danny, however, is a little shy and chose not to try out for a solo. The chorus was just fine for him.

On Tuesday night, Megan played in the spring orchestra/guitar concert at her school. There she is, in the middle with her smiling face turned toward the camera.

Her cello playing has improved dramatically in this first year of play, and all of the kids did a wonderful job. The selection of music ranged from classic folk tunes like "Turkey in the Straw" to a Lady Gaga medley. We really enjoyed both nights of music, and I am so proud of my kids!
