Spent the day celebrating early Christmas with Grandma and Paw Paw Gilbert yesterday in Jax. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. We love you, Mom and Dad!
Week 6 is complete, and tonight George and the kids and I made our first home-cooked meal in our new kitchen. We have running water, electricity, a beautiful sink, countertops and appliances! Most of the major stuff is done, and just in time for Christmas. We still have a bit to go, but at least we can function again.
Week 5 is complete and we have completed cabinets, paint (light gray), wood countertops and a new table/benches. Everything is coming together nicely. Big shout out to Bill and his team at Out of the Woodwork for the countertops and table/benches. George and I (and the kids) are so excited to see what we will have before Christmas!
Today, my baby boy turns 14. He is taller than me now, and he has lost that baby look, but he grows more handsome and fills me with joy nearly every day. How could he not, when his love and personality shines through everything? George and I are so proud of him and who he is becoming.
Even though we're going minimalist this year, we got some new outdoor decorations this year, including a long-awaited nativity set and a nod to Bruce and Penny Gilbert, chosen by George and Danny. and put together by George Sr., George Jr., and Danny.
Week 4 is complete, and we have cabinets, an island, French doors and a sink! George and I are getting really excited because we can see some of what the end product will look like.
Megan had fun planning out her Disney Bound escapades from Thanksgiving week. I tried to capture all of them. Even though the last one is not really Disney Bound, Danny got in the spirit, and photographers for Stitch even gave a Firefly shout-out. So stinkin cute!
Week 3 is complete and we have floors! Cabinets are beginning to be installed (but the kitchen is now too packed to get a good pic) and should be completed this week (if we are lucky!).
This week, we made our traditional Thanksgiving trip to Disney World. We had a fantastic time, and although I can't fit every picture in, the highlights are proof that a good time was had by all.
