I haven't fully recovered yet, but George and I had a great time at Gartner Symposium at Walt Disney World this week. It was a good mixture of business and pleasure. And we love the Magic Kingdom, especially at night!
We even got a pic at the Pirates of the Caribbean, a new feature that I haven't seen before.
George and Zac enjoyed the first day, including an homage to Danny's favorite drink, Beverly. I got a shot of my favorite guy with my favorite food and wine festival sign,
and Moana Sculptures at Ghirardelli,
and got to listen to the Eat to the Beat Concerts including Mark Wills and American Authors,
After touring around a near empty Epcot.
We also enjoyed the Thrice Spiced fries at Abracadabar
And then going back to the room to enjoy my favorite apple pie caramel apples.
For business, my favorite session was the Susan Cain CIO lunch on harnessing the power of introverts,
George and Danny left Friday afternoon for a boys weekend visit with Zachary in Gainesville. They spent the evening having fun downtown while Megan and I hung out at home and watched Jane Austen adaptations. Looks like they're having a great time.
First day of summer vacation started off right with a great breakfast at the new Maple Street Biscuit Co. in Killearn.
And then...
The next morning, I woke up and sneaked away to eat some breakfast and get some reading in on the Boardwalk. It was a peaceful and beautiful morning.
We hung out at the hotel and enjoyed the pool all morning. We even had a guest at lunch by the pool. This was taken right before she stole the entire tray of fries from George!
A special treat! Afternoon tea at the Gardenview Tea Room at the Grand Floridian Resort. Like a warm hug to get us through the rest of the day.
We also visited the new Pandora section of Animal Kingdom. The luminescent paint was gorgeous, and nighttime proved to be awesome in that section of the park.
The last day, we hung out in Epcot and got some cool pics in France.
George and I also had a "date" tour of the Living with the Land hydroponic gardens. So cool.
