Tropical Storm Fay

Last weekend was a blast! I got the flu on Thursday night (our anniversary - 9 Years!!!), and on Friday, T.S. Fay moved in. We lost power on Saturday morning and spent most of the day watching the rain come down outside. The electricity came back on at about 6:30 am on Sunday, and we again watched the rain come down outside. On Monday I stayed home sick (and sick of traffic - my route to work was closed due to a broken sewer main), and when I got in the car to pick up the kids from school, it died. In all, we were very lucky. The storm left us a very healthy yard and a few branches in the front yard, which the kids were excited to clean up on Monday. Don't they look excited?

First Day of School

First day of school for Leon County. Megan started the 3rd grade, Danny started Pre-K, and Zachary started the 10th grade. Don't they look smart?

The local star

If you're in Tallahassee, WCOT (Cable channel 13) is playing City Law City Justice, and this month's show is on the Alcohol Compliance Team. George is a guest in the 2nd and 3rd portions of the show. He looks mighty handsome in his dress blues, and it is a good show. He has starred a few times on the show, but this one is the best!

Where did my little boy go?

"Yeah, I'm bad. I know it," says Danny. What happened to my baby?

Swim lessons and another party

Another Saturday morning! Danny and Megan started swimming lessons this morning (this will be the second summer for them). I'll get to sleep in tomorrow maybe. Then, the three of us went out to Uncle Billy and Aunt Celia's house for Addison's 1st birthday. Isn't she a doll?

We had a great time visiting with the family, and I got some good shots of my niece Annabelle with Grandma Creamer.

In case you haven't heard yet, it's been a busy month for us. The most exciting news is that I have been offered a new job! On or about Sept. 5, I will be the assistant to the Chief Information Officer for the State, housed in the new Agency for Enterprise Information Technology. I am sad to be leaving the Dept. of Health as I am really comfortable there and truly like the people I work with (particularly my supervisor - he's truly a good man, and I am sad to be leaving his side). However, it's a career move that I can't pass up. Later.

George's Pics

These are some really good pics of Danny that George has gotten lately, and I couldn't resist sharing. I'm off to bed for the second time tonight.

Happy Birthday Zachary!

Zachary turned 15 on Thursday, and since we didn't have him on his actual birthday, we celebrated today. Zachary got here at 9 and opened his presents, one being a digital camera. This is his day, so I'll showcase some of his shots, too. We ate breakfast at Another Broken Egg, and I, being sick (I spent all of Thursday in the bed), went to bed when we got home. George and Zachary barely beat the rain while mowing the yard, and then went to work out. Yes that's 6 plates on each side, God save his knees.

Zachary also took a few pics of Megan in her Nancy Drew-inspired dress. After the workout, we met both sets of grandparents at Rummy's, and George started taking the pictures. He got some great shots. Zachary was most excited about the Spiderman comics, the Crocs, and the Robin Hood: Men in Tights/Spaceballs dvd set. It was a good day.
