St. Patrick's Day Weekend

St. Patrick's Day is a special day in the Creamer household. We always go out of our way to make it special, and this year was even better because it fell on a Saturday! I started early in the morning by making apple doughnuts for breakfast.

I moved onto boiling the eggs and dying the yolks for my green-dyed devilled eggs.

Then I made a couple of batches of shortbread in my favorite pans.

Finally, it was time for the real cooking to commence. First up was crock pot Guinness roast beef with caramelized onion gravy,

With the help of some really awesome sous chefs, I cooked Mom Creamer's recipe for corned beef and cabbage,

while George, my lead sous chef, grilled bangers for bangers and mash and prepped everything for his favorite dish- traditional shepherd's pie.

In the meantime, I used the remaining doughnuts from breakfast make an apple bread pudding with Irish whiskey caramel sauce (I don't have any pictures of it, but trust me, I will make it again. It was phenomenal). When everything was almost done, and while Harley hung out waiting for all of the meat to be finished,

George set up the drinks

and the kids  and I decorated the kitchen.

They even printed very cool menus outlining everything we had, including some awesome Dublin Coddle that our friend Kim Mazerac was bringing too.

The food was amazing, and we had a great night hanging out with Dad (Creamer) and Donna, the Mazerac family, and each other. After all of that cooking, we all slept really well too! In the morning, we dressed again in green and after church we went to the St. Patrick's Day brunch at the University Center Club at Doak Campbell Stadium,

They put on an amazing spread, but the prettiest table by far was the dessert table, and it was definitely the kids' favorite.

We love family time, and after brunch we enjoyed picking out plants and doing some much needed planting and cleanup on our favorite front porch in the world.

This St. Patrick's was a weekend full of amazing food, friendship and fun.  We can't wait for the next one! And did I mention how much I love my kitchen?

Happy 18th Birthday, Megan!

The birthday weekend started last night with Whataburger (one of her favorites) and a hair styling care of Rebekah. She said it was an awesome start to her birthday weekend, but most importantly, we got some great mother/daughter time.

Day 2 of the birthday weekend brought cake and karaoke fun with some of Megan's best friends. She shines when she's with those who care about her, and it makes me one happy momma.

Day three of the birthday weekend ended with a party with the family. At Megan's request, we had a pasta extravaganza starting with stuffed mushrooms and Caesar salad, then spaghetti, fettuccine alfredo, and cheese tortellini with basil pesto and chicken Italian sausage. Thank you George E. Creamer Sr. and Kim Sessions Mazerac and family for joining the celebration!

Megan's Disney Bound Escapades

Megan had fun planning out her Disney Bound escapades from Thanksgiving week. I tried to capture all of them. Even though the last one is not really Disney Bound, Danny got in the spirit, and photographers for Stitch even gave a Firefly shout-out. So stinkin cute!

So it begins...Creamer Kitchen Renovation Chronicles - Day 1

So it begins...day 1 of the Creamer kitchen renovation. George and I (along with the kids) said goodbye this morning to the kitchen that has served our family well for 14 years. I'm so excited!

Halloween 2017

It's time for Halloween fun at the Creamer household again this year. Megan got her costume earlier on the year for her Gatsby party, and her only addition for Halloween night was the cigarette holder (not kosher for school) and fake cigarettes, which interestingly come in an unnecessary(according to Megan who believes you only need one and maybe a spare) pack of six. Here she was on Saturday night at Raven's party, because it is too dark to get a decent picture now.

Danny decided to be less imaginative and got an uncomfortably hot and hard-to-see-out-of chimp mask to wear. I snapped this picture before he went to a friend's party, and good thing because this was the last hour that he wore it.

Meanwhile, at home, George and I were Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf and handed out candy to the many trick-or-treaters we had this year.

He even ate his beanie weenies with his wolf hands on, partly because once on they were near impossible to remove. We had an awesome time doing very little and loved every minute of it. Can't wait to come up with next year's costumes!

Haunted Mansion Memento Mori photos for Halloween

After a 4 hour drive to the Magic Kingdom to get the final picture done (we are so lucky - it was down when we got there but they turned it on for 2 more!) we finally have them all, and just in time for Halloween.
