January, in a nutshell

I don't know about you, but January just flew by for the Creamers. Danny started the month out with skate parties,

as well as karate and beginning his Upward basketball season.

Megan spent most of the month reading for her book club meeting, and we had a great time disussing Star Girl with the girls and moms.

I can't believe this month is over! We hope it was a great first month of 2013 for you, too!

Breakfast time!

One of our family's favorite breakfasts is the Egg and Sausage Casserole pictured below.

Definitely not on the light side, this super-easy breakfast is great for a morning when you know you're going to be working hard and need those extra calories. The recipe is as follows:

 

Egg & Sausage Casserole

 

1 lb. pork sausage (I use Jimmy Dean's Maple Flavored)

1 8 oz. package Pillsbury crescent roll dough

8 eggs, beaten

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 tsp. dried oregano

 

 

1. Place sausage in a large deep skillet. Cook over medium heat until evenly browned. Drain, crumble, and set aside.

2. Preheat oven t 325 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9X13 inch baking dish.

3. Line the bottom of the prepared baking dish with crescent roll dough and sprinkly with the crumbled sausage. In a large bowl, mix the beaten eggs, mozzarella and cheddar. Season the mixture with oregano and pour over the sausage and crescent rolls.

4. Bake 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

This New Year's Eve was a night for family. George had the night off, so after dinner, we had a special celebration out back at the fire pit that George got for Christmas. We roasted marshmallows and made some traditional smores!

Afterward, we came in and cleaned up the final Christmas decorations while we watched the ball drop. Ryan Seacrest was decent, but nobody beats Dick Clark, and I missed him. Then we drank some champagne (non-alc for the kiddos) and went to bed.  I don't know about you, but this holiday season just exhausted me! I am just now posting these because it's taken me this long to get the energy to do it. We hope you all had wonderful holidays, have all recovered, and are now happily enjoying 2013!

Merry Creamer Christmas!

Christmas was awesome for the Creamer Family. We began the day with our traditional pinwheels,

then we all got something we loved,

and I spent the entire day cooking. In the evening, we delivered White Bean Chicken Chili to George's squad to celebrate with them and thank them for spending their Christmas night on the streets. It was a wonderful Christmas, and it only took me three days to recover. :)

Chritmas Eve Baking

During our Disney trip, we bought a gingerbread Mickey cookie cutter and mix to make on Christmas Eve. So, the day before Christmas, we got to work baking and decorating our gingerbread Mickeys. The kids had a blast, and they couldn't wait to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Megan's Winter Concert

December 13th was Megan's winter orchestra concert. She is in Orchestra II on her second year playing the cello. She has really improved since last year, and we were so proud to hear her play. George got a few great pics from that night.

 

I am so impressed with her determination to learn an instrument she loves. Beautiful playing, Megan! 

Happy Birthday, Danny Boy!

December 12th was Danny's actual 9th birthday, and to celebrate we took him to Red Elephant. He also got to invite his best bud, Duel.

Danny had a great time with Megan,

Daddy and Zac,

and Grandma and Pa-pa.

He loved his M&M cake, too!

Mom was taking the pictures, and while the camera was acting up, I managed to have some fun with him, too. Happy Birthday, Danny Boy!
