Danny turned 8 yesterday, and while his class had a party to which he brought Dunkin Donuts Munchkins (always a huge hit with the kiddos), his real party was on Sunday.
The theme -
basketball, but only because Party City no longer carries Harry Potter themed birthday items.
The menu -
chili dogs, cheese puff twists, and various chips with dip.
The place -
our house/back yard, complete with all of the outdoor toys and nerf equipment needed to keep 8-year-olds busy. While the kids inside texted to their hearts' content,
the kids outside danced
and helped Danny open his presents.
"When I was eight years old..."
The grandpas talked about old times, while Harley chased, crawled, and even lifted furniture for the tiniest morsel of a cheese puff.
It was a serious time for some guests
as fiends were lurking in the flower beds
Danny had a great time with his family and friends and got some awesome legos (that he has already managed to put together most of).
In all, the party was a smashing success, so much that Danny has been speaking with a British accent and saying "Smashing success, Mother" for two days. That's my boy!
